8-26-05 State Boards Here I Come!

I passed my CNA course! I took the final last night and got a 91% without really studying! I am so glad that it is over. No more night classes, no more weekends at Saint Mary's Hospital. Now I just have to wait to get a job with my license and of course take the state boards!
Mom has surgery on 9-8. The day before my birthday. I am a wee bit nervous but think that it will all turn out. Not a great time for me but the soonest that she could get the 2 surgeons to coordinate! Will keep everyone posted of how it turns out.
My birthday is coming. This year, rather than wait for a party, I decided that it is on a Friday and I know lots of people at work, so we are going to Bubinga in the ElDorado Casino to dance. It is 80's night, my favorite, so it will be a lot of fun. I don't drink more than maybe 2 etoh beverages so, I will be the sober one again Ü. I am working on an ensemble for the evening. Not sure if I can find the shirt that I am looking for but will try my best. Of course the light up shoes will be worn for as long as I can stand them......Ü They are on the "Spice Girl" side, but so fun to wear out dancing.
All is well right now. I am doing my paperwork for Bankruptcy, I will take the state boards soon, I am learning my mom's job so I can work for her after surgery, Brianna is so excited about starting 8th grade......I will see how long I can keep it up with a good frame of mind. Ü

8-20-05 Sleep

Contrary to past posts, sleep is possible to catch up on. Last night I surrendered at 930pm and despite a rude 0530 interruption by the 13 lb feline Phoebe (my other child), I slept until 100pm. The grand total of hours was a whopping 16! By far the longest that I have slept in a great while. Of course now most of my day is gone, but not wasted as sleep is essential.
I read two fabulous blogs and experienced both Alaska and the English Countryside all in the same day! For Alaska see the great Rich at watchmeturn.blogspot.com and for England, see my friend Davey at oddwasted.blogspot.com. Both Rich and Davey are extremely talented storytellers and their photos will amaze you! They always amaze me.
3 more CNA classes and a clinical to go. Then I get to start the worry about State boards. Well, at least it is done now. I can just work the 2 jobs for a while, attempt to get the finances back in order, and not worry overmuch about school until December. Then I plan to enroll in the Excelsior program and get that darn nursing degree finally! Then travel the wonderful beachfront hospitals of the west coast. Ü Always so delusional aren't I.
Was in a real funk yesterday. I got to do clinical in postpartum and just wasn't too impressed. That is normally my fun place but there were not too many babes post full moon and lots of families going home so not much for me to do. Won't be that sort of nurse then. Still anticipating ICU. I am thinking that I will be there next week or the CIC. I need to stay busy then I don't think about the everyday crap and meself, but think of others. I love to help people!
Guess that I should get going to check on Mittens (mom's 4 lb 18 year old siamese cat) and get air in the tire again (darn slow leak) and then probably watch TV and movies the rest of the day as it is one of my only ones off for a while. Being a lazy lima bean is good once in a while! Oh! Today could be Harry Potter 1,2,3 day! I so love that English lad and all of the sorcery. Ü
Ta Ta for now~Tigger
